Welcome to Wiremit ("we", "us", or "our"). We are a Zimbabwean-based financial service provider offering a suite of money transfer and financial solutions to both local and international clients. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our services through various platforms, including our official websites (wiremit.money and secure.wiremit.money), mobile applications, and physical branch locations across Zimbabwe and internationally.

By utilizing any of our services, you agree to adhere to and be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, we kindly ask that you refrain from using our services.

2. About Wiremit

Wiremit is a diversified financial technology and service company headquartered in Harare, Zimbabwe. We specialize in:

  • Facilitating secure and reliable international and domestic money transfer services for individuals and businesses.
  • Offering competitive foreign exchange (forex) or bureau de change services.
  • Enabling seamless integration with mobile money platforms for broader financial inclusion.
  • Providing additional services including telecommunications and micro-insurance.

We operate under Zimbabwean financial and regulatory frameworks and collaborate with established global partners such as RIA Money Transfer, allowing us to serve clients across over 190 countries efficiently.

3. Definitions

  • "Account": A registered profile created by a customer to use Wiremit services.
  • "Recipient": The individual or entity designated to receive funds or transfers.
  • "Sender": The individual or entity that initiates a transaction or money transfer.
  • "Services": All financial and ancillary services offered by Wiremit.
  • "Transaction": Any operation involving the transfer or exchange of funds.
  • "User": Any person or legal entity using our platforms or services.

4. Eligibility and Registration

4.1 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Wiremit services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or of legal age as defined by your jurisdiction.
  • Possess the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.
  • Submit accurate and verifiable identification documents (national ID, passport, etc.).
  • Not appear on any restricted or sanctioned entity lists.
  • Comply with all laws applicable in your region and in Zimbabwe.

4.2 Registration Process

  • Users must provide up-to-date, accurate, and complete information during sign-up.
  • Users are responsible for the confidentiality of their login credentials.
  • Any unauthorized access or suspicious activity should be reported immediately.
  • Wiremit reserves the right to suspend or permanently deactivate accounts that violate these Terms or exhibit fraudulent behavior.

5. Money Transfer Services

5.1 Availability of Services

  • Our services are accessible via digital channels (web and app), authorized agents, and branch offices.
  • Availability may depend on geographic location, currency, and partner network coverage.
  • We reserve the right to decline any transaction at our discretion.

5.2 Transaction Limits

  • Daily, weekly, monthly, or annual transaction thresholds may apply.
  • These limits may vary depending on user verification levels or regulatory caps.
  • Wiremit may impose additional caps for security, compliance, or fraud prevention.

5.3 Exchange Rates and Associated Fees

  • Exchange rates are dynamically adjusted based on prevailing market conditions.
  • Fees applicable to any service will be shown prior to confirmation.
  • Rates and fees are subject to change without prior notice.
  • All fees are final and non-refundable unless explicitly stated.

5.4 Processing Timeframes

  • Transaction speed may differ based on destination, payout method, or currency.
  • We strive for timely processing but cannot guarantee exact delivery timelines.
  • Transactions may be held for security checks, verification, or compliance clearance.

6. Verification and Compliance

6.1 Identity Confirmation

Users may be required to provide the following:

  • A valid government-issued ID (passport, national ID, driver's license)
  • A utility bill or document confirming residential address
  • Any other documentation as demanded by law or internal policy

6.2 Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Obligations

  • Wiremit strictly complies with AML policies and procedures.
  • We may report suspicious transactions to relevant authorities without prior notice.
  • Users must provide information on the purpose and origin of transactions when requested.

6.3 Sanctions Monitoring

  • Transactions are screened against global sanctions and embargo lists.
  • Any attempt to transact with blacklisted countries, persons, or organizations will be denied.
  • Such violations may result in account termination and notification to regulators.

7. Prohibited Uses

Our services must not be used for:

  • Illegal transactions or unlawful businesses
  • Money laundering or financing terrorism
  • Dealing with counterfeit or illicit goods and services
  • Avoiding government-imposed currency regulations
  • Engaging in deceptive or fraudulent practices

9. Fees and Charges

9.1 Service Fees

  • All applicable service fees are transparently shown to users before they finalize any transaction.
  • Exchange rate margins are already factored into the final rate you receive.
  • Premium or expedited services may incur extra costs depending on the selected service tier.

9.2 Payment Methods

  • Wiremit supports multiple payment options including mobile money, bank transfers, and in-branch deposits.
  • Additional fees may be imposed based on the payment method or financial provider used.
  • Currency conversion charges may also apply when transacting in different denominations.

10. Cancellation and Refunds

10.1 Cancellation Rights

  • You have the right to cancel a transaction before the recipient collects or receives the funds.
  • If the transaction has been fulfilled, cancellation may not be possible.
  • A cancellation or administrative fee may be charged.

10.2 Refund Policy

  • Refunds are subject to Wiremit's refund policy and depend on the transaction status.
  • The timeframe for refund processing may vary based on the original payment method.
  • In certain cases, fees already paid may be non-refundable.

11. Liability and Disclaimers

11.1 Service Availability

  • While we aim to provide round-the-clock access to our platforms, service interruptions may occur due to maintenance, upgrades, or unexpected outages.
  • Wiremit will not be held liable for delays or service failures caused by third-party systems, technical issues, or external factors beyond our control.

11.2 Limitation of Liability

  • Wiremit's total liability is limited to the amount involved in the disputed transaction.
  • We are not responsible for indirect losses, including loss of profit, data, or reputation.

11.3 Use of Third-Party Services

  • Wiremit may engage third-party service providers to process transactions or provide value-added services.
  • We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third parties.
  • Users must review and agree to any third-party terms where applicable.

12. Intellectual Property

12.1 Ownership Rights

  • All materials including text, images, logos, trademarks, and software belong to Wiremit.
  • Unauthorized use, reproduction, or modification of our intellectual property is strictly prohibited.

12.2 User Contributions

  • Any content submitted by users (feedback, testimonials, suggestions) may be used by Wiremit to improve its services.
  • Users grant Wiremit a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such content.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

13.1 Personal Data Collection

  • Wiremit collects only the necessary personal data to deliver its services.
  • All data collection practices are in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13.2 Data Use and Sharing

  • Your information is used for verification, transaction processing, compliance checks, and service enhancement.

14. Dispute Resolution

  • Updates will be posted on our official platforms, and continued use indicates acceptance.

15.2 Service Adjustments

  • We may temporarily or permanently adjust services for technical, legal, or strategic reasons.
  • Reasonable notice will be provided for major changes unless urgency requires immediate implementation.

16. Termination

16.1 Termination by User

  • You may close your Wiremit account at any time by submitting a formal request.

16.2 Termination by Wiremit

  • We may suspend or terminate your account due to violation of these Terms, suspicious activity, or legal non-compliance.

16.3 Effects of Termination

  • Terminated accounts will lose access to all services.
  • Obligations incurred before termination remain valid.
  • Wiremit may retain certain data as required by law.

17. General Provisions

17.1 Entire Agreement

  • These Terms represent the complete agreement between the user and Wiremit and override any previous agreements or understandings.

17.2 Severability

  • If any part of these Terms is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in effect.

17.3 Assignment

  • Users may not transfer their rights or obligations under these Terms without prior written consent.
  • Wiremit may assign its rights to affiliates or successors with reasonable notice.

17.4 Force Majeure

  • Wiremit is not responsible for failure to fulfill obligations due to circumstances beyond its control such as natural disasters, internet outages, or regulatory actions.
